Five Centuries on the Granite Terraces of Côte-Rôtie

Domaine Garon has farmed the steep granite terraces of Côte-Rôtie for five centuries — a continuity of place and purpose that is almost without parallel in the Northern Rhône.

The vineyards are worked by hand, as they must be on slopes this steep. Yields are low, farming is minimal in its intervention, and the wines are made with patience — long macerations, ageing in older oak, and bottling only when the wine has found its balance.

The result is Syrah of extraordinary depth and complexity — wines that carry the granite of the Côte Brune and the schist of the Côte Blonde in every glass, and that reward cellaring for a decade or more.
